The Balvenie Distillery was built in 1892 by William Grant with the first Whisky production began on the 1st of May 1893. Balvenie only use locally grown barley, grown by the distillery making Balvenie unique in Scotland. They also dedicates them self’s to maintaining the Five Rare Crafts using traditional floor malting as well as a team of coopers and a coppersmith on site.
A stunning malt from Balvenie. At the 2007 World Whiskies Awards, this won the World’s Best Vintage Speyside and World’s Best New Release before carrying off the overall World’s Best Speyside Trophy. It also won a Gold Editor’s Choice Award from Whisky Magazine and received a glowing review from Dave Broom.
