The Balvenie Distillery was built in 1892 by William Grant with the first Whisky production began on the 1^st of May 1893. Balvenie only use locally grown barley, grown by the distillery making Balvenie unique in Scotland. They also dedicates them self’s to maintaining the Five Rare Crafts using traditional floor malting as well as a team of coopers and a coppersmith on site.
